1972
Barrie Cox and Sidney Plant founded Cox & Plant.
1974
Moved to Monarch Works – a Victorian quadrant-design factory with a courtyard in the middle and access via an archway.
1978
Won first export order to the Middle East.
1979
Purchased Victorian workhouse – re-modelled to accommodate the growing business.
1982
Sidney Plant tragically died at 46 from an undiagnosed congenital heart disease.
1982
Judi Cox joined the business.
1983
Annual Board Meeting decided to keep the name ‘Plant’ as a sign of respect.
1985
Won major order from the UK’s largest crisp company – factory significantly extended.
1988
First ‘Electro-magnetic Controllers’ launched.
1991
Revolutionary anti-vibration mounts designed – absorbed 99.7% of transmitted vibration.
1993
Andrew M Cox joined the company.
1994
Next generation ‘Electro-magnetic Controllers’ launched.
1997
HRH Duke of Edinburgh presented the family with ‘Business of the Year’ award.
1998
Won ‘Innovation’ award for new drive system.
1999
First website launched. Awards won for content and design.
2000
Won ‘Exporter of the Year’ and ‘e-business’ awards.
2001
Tabor Works acquired to house new finishing shop and demonstration area.
2002
Third factory acquired to enhance the finishing processes in-house.
2004
Tubular conveyors launched revolutionising the processes in harsh environments.
2007
Spiral elevators launched. Plaudits won across the industry, replacing the need for traditional bucket elevators.
2010
Won a major export order from Brazil.
2011
Re-engineered vibratory incline conveyors achieving a world first 18⁰ angle.
2012
Launched specialist nut flavouring system.
2013
Installed Solidworks 3D design for all engineers.

Installed new training facility with interactive technology.
